Music
Our music program is under the direction of Choirmaster/Organist/Music Director Francis Elborne, who says:
God has bestowed upon his people the gift of music, which is one way that God leads us to the realm of higher things. We believe that whenever his people sing his praises, then God, the giver of music, is present with us.
Our ancestors reveled in this. The Israelites, after they passed through the Red Sea, sang as one to the Lord. David and his people “made merry before the Lord with all their strength, with singing” and with instruments. Our Lord Jesus Christ and his apostles sang a hymn before going to the Mount of Olives, and St. Paul instructed the Ephesians to “greet one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.”
Good music makes the prayers of the Christian community more alive and fervent. In this way everyone can praise God more powerfully, more intently, and more effectively. So much great liturgical music has been written over the centuries, and at All Saints we consider it our duty to pass this on to succeeding generations of worshipers.
The quality of our participation does not come from our vocal ability, but from the desire of our hearts to sing together of our love for God. Participation expresses and strengthens the faith that is in us, whether we sing from the choir seats or the congregational pews. Therefore, it is important for us to worship God with the best music that we can. This is what we try to do at All Saints.
The choir typically sings two anthems in every service, one during the offertory and one during Communion. The choir and congregation sing the processional and recessional hymns as well as hymns during Communion.

O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. ~ Psalm 95:1
