Faith That is Ancient, Classical, Scriptural, Spirit-led

All Saints is part of the Anglican Communion through our membership in the Convocation of Anglicans in North America (CANA). We have descended from the first century Christian Faith established in England, so we are as ancient as any Christian church in the world. We have retained much of the belief and worship practice inherited from those first Christians centuries ago.

In a day when many churches are modernizing their theologies, we cling to the "faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 1:3). In a time when many are updating their liturgies, we hold fast to the 1928 Book of Common Prayer for our main worship services. In an era when some ministers are blessing homosexual unions and supporting a woman's right to choose to have an abortion, we stand for the marriage of one man and one woman and for the sanctity of human life.

There are four cornerstones to Anglican faith, and these help frame a solid faith at All Saints.

  • The Authority of Holy Scriptures: The Old and New Testament are the Word of God and contain all things necessary to salvation.
  • The Creeds as statements of faith: The Apostles’ Creed (from c. A.D. 100) and the Nicene Creed (A.D. 325) capture the essence of true Christian doctrine. Read the text of the creeds in PDF format.
  • The Sacraments as means of grace: God meets us in the sacraments (particularly Holy Baptism and Holy Communion), and these are not mere symbols but also actually means of God sharing his grace with us.
  • The Historic Episcopate: The Apostles trained and ordained bishops to follow after them, who in turn entrusted the faith to the next generation of bishops, priests and deacons. Our church continues an unbroken line of apostolic succession, tracing our bishops from the Jesus and the Apostles right down to our present day leadership.

We believe very much as the Church did in the first five centuries. Times have changed, but we believe that the truth hasn't changed. We believe that the Word of God—the Holy Scriptures—is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
