Patti Babb

Patti BabbPatti Babb is Assistant to the Rector and Volunteer Coordinator.

”The Wonderful Miss Patti,” as she is known at All Saints, came to the parish in 2006. About that time, she retired from civil service after 27 years, working first for the Navy in Washington DC and then the Air Force at Lackland AFB.  With protocol as her specialty, she planned and coordinated events for international military officers from virtually all around the world. She received Lackland AFB’s 37th Training Wing Civilian of the Year Award for her expertise.  Retirement didn’t last long though, as she felt the call to be an active participant in the work of the Church through All Saints. She prayed and asked Fr. Chip if she could be of help and the rest, as they say, is history.

Always active in community service, Patti has volunteered for a variety of organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity and Special Olympics, where she coordinated Opening Ceremonies for the Texas Winter Games. She was a volunteer firefighter/EMT in Virginia, and she taught first aid for the American Red Cross, Boy Scouts, and YMCA as well as being a member of the hospital auxiliary and assisting in the emergency room. She actively led several Cursillo retreats for her church and also served on the Board of Directors for the Richardson Symphony Orchestra. Not surprisingly, she was named one of the Outstanding Young Women of America.

For many years she has had a ministry with the Native American people as a result of her work as Director of the Lackland American Indian Heritage Program.  She became part of the extended family of the Christian Lipan Apaches and often attends their services and celebrations.

Patti attended Oklahoma State University and Tyler Junior College.  She has two children. Her son Gary, an environmental protection expert, lives in Houston. His wife Wendy is a safety engineer with NASA. Patti’s daughter Sherrie is a firefighter/paramedic and currently the Public Information Officer for the Dallas Fire Department. Both Sherrie and her husband Robert are motorcycle enthusiasts. Patti has  also been blessed with two granddaughters, Raven and Shara, a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth , and two “grand-doggies,” Buster & Nugget.
