Father Chip Harper
The Rev. C.B. “Chip” Harper is the Rector of All Saints Anglican Church. He is responsible for worship, outreach, Christian training, and pastoral care for a parish population of over 200.
Born October 27th, 1955, the San Antonio, Texas, native graduated from Texas Military Institute in 1973 and, directly following graduation from Texas A&M University in 1979, earned an Air Force commission. His military background includes over 30 years in uniform between his active Air Force service and Army and Marine Corps officer training, beginning as early as 1968.
Fr. Chip earned his Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Texas A&M, with minors in Spanish and business and also holds a Master of Arts in Personnel from Central Michigan University and a Master of Divinity from Laud Hall Seminary.
While on active duty, he served as a public affairs officer, in nuclear combat operations, officer training, and recruiting. He has also graduated from the Defense Information Officer School, United States Air Force Command and Staff College, and the United States Marine Corps Command and Staff College as well as from the Air War College. He retired from active duty in late 2003.
Fr. Chip entered the ministry in November of 2002, when he was ordained to the diaconate at All Saints. He was priested in June of 2003 at his first parish, St. Stephen in Athens, TX, where he served as rector from September of 2003 until April of 2005 — when he became rector at All Saints.
He’s very active in the San Antonio community — having been a guest columnist for the San Antonio Express-News, San Antonio’s daily newspaper, as well as the North San Antonio Times and Christian Beacon newspapers. He regularly interfaces with ecumenical groups, such as the Church of the City, National Day of Prayer, Global Day of Prayer, Christian Military Academy, KSLR Radio, Christian Assistance Ministry, Daily Bread Ministries, Christian Senior Services, and The Gathering ministerial association. Fr. Chip is on the Pastoral Support Team for Promise Keepers San Antonio conference.
His interests and hobbies include motorcycles, long-distance biking, physical fitness, hunting, fishing, and golf. He married the former Christie L. Albrecht in San Antonio, Texas in 1981.
